Nuclear ☢️ Disaster 🇦🇺 Australia

SMH has paraphrased failed PM Chairman Mal (Turnbull) decrying the so-called climate wars as being unending until the C🪨al-ition ‘choses engineering and economics over ideology and idiocy.’ But, that sweet little aphorism is applicable to anything the forces of darkness try to hoister on gullible Australians. Their latest salvo even claims nuclear generated energy can replace coal in our energy mix. 📿

The C🪨al-ition's previous energy furphies have also been designed to extend coal's life and benefit mining giants billionaire cunts. Accordingly, they have trotted out: carbon capture and storage, HELE (clean 😂 coal), our abundant gas resources and now SMRs (small modular reactors). But because of our lucky country's ability to use sun and wind to further Australia's energy needs — renewables are now much cheaper than nuclear alternatives. ☢️

In response, Peter ‘dumndumerer’ Dutton has lied about the ‘trillion 💰 dollar’ cost of a roll-out of the renewable grid to regional areas. But …

Regardless of what that reactionary ra-tard says, the reality remains that the cost of nuclear is prohibitive. Nuclear is simply not viable compared to renewables which are two to four times cheaper. But the C🪨al-ition isn't capable of understanding — let alone accepting — this fact any more than they were of comprehending meta data … and let's not forget, they're still struggling coming to terms with another reality — same sex 🏳️‍🌈 marriage. 😨

@nhippert

Nuclear fails for a variety of other reasons too …

Time to first kilowatt is the first fail as it will take at least 20 years for anything of commercial value to be built in Australia and SMRs are just another economic fantasy at this stage. By the time any of the myriad of associated issues are addressed, most (if not all) coal plants will be long retired.

And, despite all the lies peddled by C🪨al-ition cunts et al., climate change is real and the world does not have the luxury of time to ignore it — it's no joke, Peter, you cunt.

Politically, perennial senate power holders the Greens would never support nuclear. Nor would Labor — for any foreseeable future. Ironically, it was John ‘Coward’ Howard who banned nuclear power nationally. And, currently, neither NSW, QLD or VIC would allow reactors of the required size to be built.

The technical difficulties are also major fails because — like coal — nuclear power is designed to be left on. Battery storage linked to renewable production is technologically better for modern energy grids. But, once again, much like modernity itself is anathema to those C🪨al-ition cunts. 🙀

Not withstanding that at a time of terrorist threats or ‘natural’ disaster (Australia averages 100 earthquakes a year) safety should be on everyone's list. Waste challenges are claimed to be resolved with synroc, but …

Who would live near a nuclear storage facility? … Would you? 🤨

Ironically, for the dim-witted Dutton at least, the free market (aka his deity) isn't buying let alone investing in nuclear any more than anyone bought into his failed Invasion Day boycott. No other democratic countries are going further into nuclear either. Australia's abundant mix of sun, wind and hydro backed up with some baseline gas insurance is working and making money! 🥰
