A drag display in Paris' Olympic Games opening ceremony has been criticised by conservatives and so-called ‘church leaders’. These bottom-feeders claim the performance mocked the subject of Leonardo da Vinci’s The Last Supper mural. But, given how utterly ridiculous any religion is, ridicule seems more than a reasonable raison d'etre.
Olympic organisers have denied the complaints but where the complainants are a bunch of dogrootering muppets like the catholic church and evangelical morons, their concerns clearly can't be taken seriously. 😆 Plus, it's not even sure that the skit was taking the piss out of the famous scene. Other classical works have similar imagery and given the fact that story is about an eschatological jew having a feed with a dozen of his besties is made up anyway it, by definition, can't be ‘blasphemous’. Ironically, the actual intended star of the skit was the ancient Greek god Dionysus — party deity par excellence.
