Bird v DP is a court case about ‘vicarious liability’ and how the catholic church can avoid their responsibility when one of their cunty clergy sexually abuses children. The Bird case involved a fucking five year old getting fucked in the arse by a fucking catholic priest called Father Bryan Coffey. But the High Court's ruling is that catholic priests like Coffey are actually not church employees and therefore the church is not liable for their sexual abuse of children.

The diocese in question (on this occasion) was (no pun intended) Ballarat which the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse found had several serial rock-spiders who've been convicted (and/or accused) in Victoria including, but not limited to: Brother Edward Dowlan, Brother Robert Best, Stephen Frances Farrell, Brother Gerald Leo Fitzgerald, and infamous Chaplain Gerald Francis Ridsdale (one of George Pell's besties).
The decision has affected thousands of legal cases against religious orders in Australia — including some 1800 civil claims currently before the courts in Victoria and survivors may no longer be able to pursue justice or get compensation. Like Pell's strategic (and successful) use of the Ellis defence (now limited), it appears the church and their foul fucking god, have won — as have the Scouts and numerous other ‘voluntary’ roles fostering child molesters. NSW is one of few Australian jurisdictions that protects against this legal loophole approach that denies ‘vicarious liability’.
